Hofstede model between Colombia and Mexico
Power
Distance: The scores of Colombia represents a society that
believes that inequalities are normal in people's daily lives. For that reason,
an union leader will have a lot of concentrated power. In the same way in
Mexico people accept an order in which everybody has a place and which
needs no further justification.
Individualism: Both
of the countries has highly collectivistic people, belonging to an
in-group and aligning yourself with that group’s opinion is very important. In
that way Relationships are very important for their societies.
Masculinity: Colombia
and Mexico are a Masculine society. They are competitive and
status-oriented, this means that competition is directed towards members
of other groups.
Uncertainty
Avoidance: Mexico and Colombia are too similars in this aspects,
this means that as a nation they are seeking mechanisms to avoid
ambiguity. An example of this is the religion, which is respected,
followed by many and conservative.
Long
Term Orientation: Both of these countries are normative. They
exhibit great respect for traditions, a relatively small propensity to save for
the future, and a focus on achieving quick results.
Indulgence: Both
are Indulgent countries. People in this societies generally exhibit a
willingness to realise their impulses and desires with regard to enjoying life
and having fun.
